AI Agents
Every piece of AI work in Artemis is an agent run: a chat, a Plan being drafted, a Scan, a Fix, a Discovery Run or a coding agent making changes on a Branch. The AI Agents page in a Project lists all of them in one place, so you can follow what is running and open any of them.
There are two ways in:
- AI Agents in the Project sidebar shows the agents for that Project.
- AI Agents in the main sidebar shows every agent across your Projects.
Start an agent
The composer at the top of the page starts a new agent. Pick the kind of agent first, then describe what you want in your own words or choose one of the suggested prompts.
| Agent | What it does | Where its work lands |
|---|---|---|
| Chat | Answers questions about the Project and its code. It reads the code but does not change it. | The chat itself |
| Maintain | Works with Rules, Scans and Issues: drafts Rules, triages findings, starts Scans and Fixes. | Maintain |
| Discover | Starts a Discovery Run to solve a problem with measured experiments. | Discover |
| Plan | Breaks the work into Tasks before any code is written. | Plan |
Code changes are made by coding agents. You start one from the Branches page by describing a change, from a Plan with Build plan, or from an Issue with Fix. Each coding agent works on its own Branch, so nothing reaches your Git provider until you publish it.
Follow and filter agents
The list shows each agent with its type (for example Chat, Planning, Scan, Fix, Discovery or Branch), its state and when it was last updated. Filter by type (Chat, Code, Maintain, Discover, Plan) and state, search by title, and sort by created or updated date. Open an agent to read its conversation and the tools it used while it worked.
Agents keep running in the background, so you can start several and come back to them later.
