Make a Plan
1. Access the Plans Panel
Navigate to the Build section, select Plans from the sidebar, and click New Plan to begin.

2. Initialize Your Plan
Enter a prompt describing what you want to build, or choose one of the ready-to-use plan templates. Select your preferred model, then click Plan to start the planning process.

3. Answer Planning Questions
Artemis will ask targeted questions to gather the context and requirements for your plan. You can:
- Select one of the suggested options
- Provide your own custom answers
- Skip questioning by choosing “Skip to Plan”

4. Review the Generated Plan
After gathering requirements, Artemis prepares a detailed plan summary that includes:
- Project assessment and scope
- Technical approach and reasoning
- Step-by-step delivery strategy
Review the summary and choose how to proceed:
- Yes, proceed – Accept the plan and open the Plan Dashboard
- No, let me adjust – Request modifications and continue refining by asking follow-up questions

5. Explore the Plan Dashboard
The Plan Dashboard includes:
- Progress bar
Visual indicator of completed vs. remaining tasks. - Task hierarchy grouped by phase
Tasks are structured into phases, with subtasks displayed in a clear hierarchy that shows scope, dependencies, and logical flow. - Ordered task list
A flattened list showing tasks in execution sequence. - Task assignees
Each task is marked as either User or Agent. - Task status
You can manually set tasks to complete or skipped. - Agent status
Displays the agent’s current state and Git sync status.

And Each Individual Task includes:
- Task Name – Clear and actionable
- Description – Detailed requirements
- Prompt – AI-ready, repository-aware instructions you can copy or edit

6. Actions on Plan
Download Plan
Export the entire plan—including phases, hierarchy, descriptions, and assignments—as a clean Markdown or CSV file. Ideal for documentation, sharing, reviewing, or working with external AI tools.

Add Custom Tasks
Plans are flexible and can evolve at any time.
From the task menu (⋮), you can:
- Edit Task – Update task details or descriptions
- Remove Task – Delete tasks you no longer need
- Add Task above/below – Insert tasks anywhere in the plan and assigned it to either yourself or the Agent.

You can ask the Agent to update the plan at any time (as long as you have not started any subtasks)—whether you need tasks reorganized, details clarified, or new steps added.

Once your plan is finalized, continue with Build and validate plan to execute the subtasks.
